Organised by Sergio Campos, cultural director of the Associação Mobiliário e Design Moderno Brasileiro (AMDMB) [Brazilian Modern Furniture and Design Association], the exhibition “The Chair: an affective bond” presented to SP-Arte visitors fifteen emblematic pieces of Brazilian modern and contemporary design. The chairs were chosen by the curators and also suggested by representatives of the sector who participated in the Festival, forming a diversified panorama. Among the picks, were Lina Bo Bardi’s chairs made for Sesc Pompeia, the curved chair with high backrest by Joaquim Tenreiro and a work by Jacqueline Terpins, paying tribute to Copacabana beach.
