The Casa SP–Arte is currently showcasing Hélio Oiticica: mundo–labirinto.
Organized by the Gomide&Co gallery and its artistic director, Luisa Duarte, the exhibition brings together artworks from different phases of Oiticica’s production (1937-1980), including the unprecedented unfolding of a Cosmococa (CC4), the first Penetrável (PN1), and series of Metaesquemas, Bólides and Parangolés.
According to Fred Coelho, an expert in Hélio Oiticica who wrote the critical text for the exhibition, “What we see, therefore, in the exhibition Hélio Oiticica: mundo-labirinto, are some of the entrances and passages to the creative process of an artist in constant movement of transgression. (…) world and labyrinth expand on each other and give infinite continuity to the revolution of color, time, space and image.”
The house is located at Alameda Ministro Rocha Azevedo, 1,052, in Jardins, São Paulo, and is open from Wednesday to Saturday, from 11am to 5pm. Admission is free.
