MoMA launches free online course on photography and art
4 May 2016, 10:17 am
In May, the Museum of Modern (MoMA) New York will present a special program for photography lovers. The curator Sarah Meister, who was a special guest at SP-Arte/Foto in 2015, will discuss highlights from MoMA’s photography collection in the free course, Seeing Through Photographs, six sessions that can be viewed online at each students own pace.
At the end of the course, the students will have developed a critical eye, with a new appreciation for the “diverse ideas, approaches, and technologies” that construct a photograph.
The course includes special guests including a video interview with Marvin Heiferman, author of the book, Photography Changes Everything and Quentin Bajac, chief curator of photography at MoMA (The Museum of Modern Art) New York.
Students enrolled in the online course will be able to test their knowledge at the end of the six weeks in a 30 minute questionnaire in which they will have to match images with the topics covered in the class.
