One of SP-Arte’s missions is to strengthen the artistic circuit as a whole, supporting projects in development and creating bridges between different agents and art spaces.

SP-Arte Residency Prize

Paul Setúbal (Andrea Rehder Arte Contemporânea) won the 7th SP-Arte Residency Prize, a three-month stay at Delfina Foundation, in London, one of the main organizations for artistic residencies.

The prize offers a unique opportunity for Brazilian artists to get in touch with the international scene. The winner is chosen by a jury of Delfina and SP-Arte representatives.

Marcos Amaro Art Prize

Marcelo Moscheta (Vermelho Gallery) received the Marcos Amaro Art Prize. Along with a R$50.000 cash prize, the artist will develop an unprecedented project of up to R$45.000, to be exhibited at Fábrica de Arte Marcos Amaro (Itu, São Paulo), in 2020, in the same time period as the 16th edition of SP-Arte.

In “Rejeito”, Moscheta will create the course of an imaginary river out of dry leaves made of ceramic, replicating their textures and deformations.

SP-Arte Acquisition Award

The SP-Arte Acquisition Award went to Cristiano Lenhardt (Fortes D’Aloia e Gabriel) with the performance “Atoritoleituralogosh”, selected by the curatorial team at Pinacoteca do Estado and incorporated to the museum’s collection. The action was acquired and donated by SP-Arte, aiming for the insertion of this sort of artistic expression in institutions.
