Juliana Pessoa was born in 1984, in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, and lives and works in Ponta da Fruta, Espírito Santo. She is a plastic artist and a professor of Philosophy at Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo. Pessoa has research in the area of drawing, exploring iconographies of candomblé, of cangaço, of Belo Monte, as well as dedicating herself to the study of the works of Nietzsche and Heidegger and also of Brazilian literature with sertanejo themes.

Among the exhibitions in which she participated are "Oba, entre deuses e homens", at Museu Capixaba do Negro (Vitória, 2015), and "III Bienal do Sertão" (Vitória da Conquista, Bahia, 2017).
