WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE ABOUT SOMETHING?

Thought provoking article by Jörg Colberg on the excess of rhetoric in photography today, published on his site.

Colberg is listed by American Photo as part of the “new generation of thought leaders that has emerged to give photographers and photography fans new avenues of information”, and his Conscientious Photography Magazine is already considered a must-read by the insiders, including great articles, in-depth interviews and photobook reviews.

Letters to the Mayor: São Paulo

Cartas ao Prefeito: São Paulo

letters to the mayor

Arriving in São Paulo, the project Letters to the Mayor, which has already been exhibited in cities like New York, Athens, Mexico City and Taipei presents 50 letters written by architects and urban planners to the mayor expressing their ideas, criticism and wishes for the city in which they live. The exhibition will take place at Pivô and has already confirmed names like Carlito Carvalhosa, William Wisnik, Erminia Maricato Sergio iron, and Martin Corullon.

In order to ensure their critical independence, this project will be 100% crowdfunded on the site Catarse until July 12.

RADIOHEAD

The English band Radiohead just released their ninth studio album, A Moon Shaped Pool. Obsessed with all stages of creation, the band members are involved with releasing content directly to their audiences through music videos, transmitting the visual identity of their albums and singles. The band has worked with the same artist since 1994 – the also English, Stanley Donwood. For me, the cover of The Moon Shaped Pool is one of his most beautiful works.

On their Instagram, Radiohead has shared some pictures without credits, which appear to be Donwood’s studies for the final cover, as well as vignettes for each of the songs on the album, produced by visual artists and directors from various countries.
