Nara Roesler Livros | Books is a new phase of an editorial initiative that has been producing carefully crafted publications since its inception in 2011. The Associação para o Patronato Contemporâneo [Association for Contemporary Patronage] (APC) was conceived by the partners of the Nara Roesler gallery with the aim of fostering critical thinking around contemporary artistic practice in Brazil through the production of original books.
Having edited more than twenty publications, Nara Roesler Livros/APC has consistently brought its books to public libraries, schools, and museums and is present in bookstores throughout Brazil. Under the editorial direction of the writer, poet, and curator Luis Pérez-Oramas, Nara Roesler Livros presents readers with three editorial lines: Monographs, Cut-Outs, and Essays. In order to reach a broad and diverse audience, publications are released in bilingual versions and separate volumes in Portuguese and English (depending on the size of the publication). The latest releases include books by Abraham Palatnik, Cristina Canale, Laura Vinci, Marcelo Silveira, Rodolpho Parigi, Sérgio Sister, and Vik Muniz.
