MuBE – Museu Brasileiro de Escultura e Ecologia
São Paulo, Brazil
About
MuBE, the Brazilian Museum of Sculpture and Ecology, was created when a plot of land, located between Avenida Europa and Rua Alemanha, was granted by the City of São Paulo to SAM - Society of Friends of Museums, in 1986, for the construction of a Cultural Center for Sculpture and Ecology.
To choose the design of the Museum building, a competition was held and won by Paulo Mendes da Rocha. Thus MuBE was born, and its building — a landmark of world architecture with a garden designed by Roberto Burle Marx — was created.
