Galeria Ybakatu

Curitiba, Brazil

The Ybakatu gallery began its activities in 1995, with the purpose of exhibiting contemporary art. Initially it showed the work of local artists of the 1990s, but since then it has expanded its activities.
At present, the gallery features solo art exhibitions and curatorial projects by guest curators that include local, national and even some international productions, which place the gallery in a privileged position in the national artistic scenario. In addition to art exhibits and organization of special projects, other events like book signings and video shows are also held.
The gallery stands out in Brazil’s southern region thanks to its dynamic activities and to the high quality of the artists it represents in other regions of the country as well.
Gallery attends international art fairs.
It also plays an important role in the city through its first-class calendar, which is committed to reflection on current art processes.
