Galeria Murilo Castro

Galeria Murilo Castro is a contemporary art gallery in Belo Horizonte, championing new ideas since 2002. Through exhibitions and artist representation, the gallery spotlights established, midcareer and emerging artists who are active locally and internationally. Influential in cultural and political spheres, these artists are recognized for creating work that is multimedia, inter-disciplinary and crosses geographic borders.

The gallery considers artistic practice as a form of research and knowledge production. In addition to the exhibitions program, participating in national and international art fairs, Murilo Castro hosts a series of talks that connect the community, art professionals and artists to generate responses to social and cultural issues, developing a closer relationship between the artists and an engaged audience interested in learning about and collecting contemporary art.
