The gallery was opened up by Mario Cohen in 2002, at the Chopin Building , in Rio de Janeiro, being named “Pequena Galeria 18”. Exclusive of photographs, it got renowned as the first “Fine Art Photography Gallery” in Latin America. On August, 2015 became settled in São Paulo. Its opening exhibition showed photographs of the businessman and restaurateur Rogerio Fasano. Mario Cohen, owner of the gallery and in charge of its patrimony and exhibitions, for more than one decade, has been member of the curatorship of the Pirelli-Masp photographs collection, considered one of the most respectful in the country.
Located in Jardim Paulistano neighborhood, the gallery occupies 130m2 on the second floor of a small, charming building. Besides the exhibitions along the year, the gallery has important photographers in its patrimony, such as Sebastião Salgado, Pierre Verger, Otto Stupakoff, Marcel Gautherot, Walter Firmo, Norman Parkinson, Roberio Braga, Cristiano Mascaro, among other renowned names of the Photograph.
