CAPACETE is the oldest residence and cultural exchange program in Brazil, with more than 20 years of experience. Founded in 1998 by Helmut Batista in Rio de Janeiro, CAPACETE offers an artistic program that is structured through research residencies, public presentations in various formats, training for professionals (CAPACETE School) and for children (Pequeno Laboratório), open courses, experimental kitchen, library and publications. Throughout these years CAPACETE has established partnerships with international institutions of great prestige, acting as input to Brazilian culture and artistic context. To date, more than 450 professionals from different countries have gone through the program.
