Active in the art system since 2015, Aura was created as an online mapping platform for emerging artists. In 2017 it established headquarters in São Paulo and assumed the traditional operations of an art gallery as well.
Currently, under its consolidated identity, it is guided by a feedback process which considers both physical and digital performances. Its curatorial axis prioritizes the representation of artists with a common commitment to materiality as a fundamental phase of artistic research.
The newly founded Bailune Biancheri Gallery was born as an offshoot to the Aura gallery (SP), invested in a curatorial program with a slightly different orientation. Urgent contemporary themes centre this program, focused on digital formats and investigations into image, in a bid to tension the dominant visualities and imaginaries of our time.
The name Bailune Biancheri is in reference to the twin driving forces of Aura, ever present since its inception: Bruna Bailune, it’s director and creator, and Edoardo Biancheri, the art-loving investor whose constant support is a foundation of the gallery's activity.
