The Corte armchair comes from the idea of splitting the volume by segmenting it in slices, hence comes its name. Each one of the sections has a different outline. Side by side, this contours model the curvature of the seat and back. It’s as if, slicing the armchair and reassembling its pieces, the chair was one step from both its construction and its deconstruction. It contains the full and the empty: the repetition of its equal and different rims mirrored through the center create a resonance that goes beyond the piece itself, echoing in an imaginary movement.
