About

Milton Montenegro Madeira was born in Rio de Janeiro, in 1954. The photographer started working as an assistant producer of advertising films in 1973 and in 1980 founded, in partnership with Márcia Ramalho, the Estúdio Camera Obscura, dedicated to advertising photography, never ceasing to dedicate himself to personal expression photography, participating in important international events.

Among the national and international exhibitions in which he participated are the individuals “Deceptio Visus”, at Galeria Milan (São Paulo, 1989), and “Nebulae”, at Museu da Fotografia Cidade de Curitiba (Curitiba, 1999); and the group shows “Hecho en Latino-América” (Nova York, 1978), and “Da pele que quer ser vista ao sentido invisível”, at Espaço Cultural - TCE (Niterói, RJ, 2003).

His work integrates important institutional collections such as Acervo Fondazione Italiana per la Fotografia (Italy), Acervo Musée Français de la Photographie (France) e Coleção Pirelli/Masp de Fotografias (Brazil).
