About

Guilherme Portela was born in 1978, in Rio de Janeiro, and lives and works in Paris. Graduated in industrial drawing, he has additional training in painting from the Parque Lage with Suzana Queiroga, Chico Cunha and Luiz Ernesto. He works with issues related to architecture, spaces and objects of common use in paintings, drawings, photographs, among others.

Among the national and international exhibitions in which he participated are the group shows “Pintura (no parque)”, at Galeria Anna Maria Niemeyer (Rio de Janeiro, 2008); “Só você e os outros passam”, at Galeria Largo das Artes (Rio de Janeiro, 2009-2010); “Arquitetura tátil”, at Galeria Sancovsky (São Paulo, 2013); and “21º Salão Anapolino de Arte”, na Galeria Antônio Sibasolly (Anápolis, Goiás, 2015).

The artist was recognized with the awards “Prêmio de Aquisicão do 21o Salão Anapolino de Arte” (Anápolis, Goiás, 2015), through the Secretaria Municipal de Cultura e Prefeitura de Anápolis.
