About

Francisco Klinger Carvalho was born in Óbidos, Pará, in 1966, and lives and works between Heidelberg, Germany and São Paulo. He is a multimedia artist and makes use of different materials and methods to compose sculptures, installations and works in public spaces. In 1997, he graduated in Arts Education from the Federal University of Pará, the same year he received a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for postgraduate studies in Germany.

Among the national and international exhibitions in which he participated are the solo exhibitions "El otrolado", at LA Galeria (Bogotá, Colômbia, 2009), and "Do concreto ao alegórico", at Museu Brasileiro da Escultura (São Paulo, 2015); and the group shows "Salão Nacional de Belo Horizonte", at Museu de Arte de Belo Horizonte (Belo Horizonte, 1990) and "Wespe und Orchidee", at Grimmuseum (Berlim, 2016).

In 2012, was recognized with the award from Banco Sparkasse Kandel, in Germany, and in 2013, with the Prêmio Itamaraty de Arte Contemporânea.
