Francisco Brennand

Brazil, 1927

About

Brennand's sculptures have the character of totems, or are related to signs from popular tradition. In many works, she presents terrifying creatures, monsters, deformed beings or those that reveal a tragic character. Some sculptures are linked to fertility rituals from archaic cultures, presenting a strongly sexual character.
