About

Daniel Lannes was born in Niterói, in 1981, and lives and works in Rio de Janeiro. The artist is MA in Visual Language at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2012) and BFA in Social Communication at PUC-Rio (2006).

Among the national and international exhibitions in which he participated are the solo exhibitions “Midnight Paintings” (2007), at Centro Cultural São Paulo (Sao Paulo, 2007) and “A luz do fogo”, at Magic Beans Gallery, (Berlim, 2017); and the group shows “Painting’s Edge”, at RiverSide Museum of Art (Riverside, EUA, 2008) e “Höhenrausch”, na Eigen + Art gallery (Berlim, 2016).

In 2015, he was a resident at Kunstresidenz Bad Gastein, in Bad Gastein, Austria and was recognized for the awards VI Prêmio Marcantonio Vilaça for visual arts (2017-2018) and Funarte de Arte Contemporânea Award (2011).

His work is featured in numerous public collections, including the Museu de Arte do Rio de Janeiro (MAR); Instituto Figueiredo Ferraz, Ribeirão Preto; Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro, among others.
