About

Bruno Miguel was born in 1981 and has lived in Rio de Janeiro ever since. His research revolves around the construction and representation of the landscape in contemporary times, active in several languages. In recent years, the artist's reflection on landscape have begun to give way to a greater investigation of painting as a language and its interfaces with contemporary daily life.

Among the national and international exhibitions in which he participated are the solo exhibitions "O vazio e o conceito", at Espaço EBA 7 (Rio de Janeiro, 2006) e "You Can't Take It With You", at PCA&D Lancaster (Pennsylvania, USA, 2019); and the group shows "Mostrarte II", at Espaço Cultural da Universidade Estácio de Sá (Rio de Janeiro, 2002) and "The World on Paper", at Palais Populaire (Berlim, 2018).

In 2013, he was a resident at the Vermont Studio Center, in the United States, and in 2019, at the Fountainhead Residence, in Miami. Bruno Miguel was recognized with the awards “Special Mention of Honor” from V Bienal Internacional de La Paz, in Bolívia, and Fellowship Award, from the Vermont Studio Center.

His work integrates important institutional collections such as Museu de Arte do Rio de Janeiro (MAR) e do Centro Cultural São Paulo (CCSP); and private collections of Ana Eliza and Paulo Setúbal, and Armando Andrade, in Peru.
