Artur Barrio

Portugal, 1945

About

In 1969, he began creating "Situations," high-impact interventions carried out in urban spaces using unconventional materials like trash, toilet paper, waste, organic materials, human detritus, and putrefied meat (as seen in the "Bloody Bundles"). These "Situations" are ephemeral and provocative acts, representing artistic interference in the environment.
