Trinidad Metz Brea

Argentina, 1994

Trinidad Metz Brea (Buenos Aires, 1994) develops a practice that moves fluidly across disciplines, spanning drawing, printmaking, and sculpture. Through hybrid processes and surfaces, her work explores the material and conceptual relationships between artistic traditions and new technologies. From drawing to reliefs and sculpture, working with both synthetic and industrial materials as well as wood, marble, and metals, her practice is characterized by procedures of accumulation, confabulation, and logics of metamorphosis. Drawing on structural and formal elements from mythology, Latin American folklore, and science fiction, and informed by queer narratives, her work addresses notions of monstrosity, ecological collapse, contemporary anxiety, and the possible emergence of new forms of existence and mutant survival in the face of planetary uncertainty. Her pieces propose imaginaries in which the erotic, the uncanny, and the speculative coexist. She lives and works in Buenos Aires. Her solo exhibitions include Ferales (Valerie’s Factory, Buenos Aires, 2023), curated by Sofía Dourron, and La Motherboard (Fundación El Mirador, Buenos Aires, 2021), curated by Irene Gelfman and supported by Fundación Santander through its Mecenazgo program. Recent projects include Continente Oscuro (MACBA, Buenos Aires, 2026), Moderno y Metamoderno (Museo Moderno, Buenos Aires, 2025), Poema ao Rosto (Gruta, Sao Paulo, 2025), and A Pekín (Fundación Amalia Fortabat, Buenos Aires, 2025).
